A Bank for the Syracuse Community
As Canandaigua National Bank expands their presence in Central New York, finding the right home in downtown Syracuse was critical for them. Our team worked with the bank to convert a prime street front tenant space in historic Armory Square into an anchor branch location for them in the region.
The mission statement for the team was to promote brand visibility to the public, create a warm atmosphere for clients, and make the branch feel right at home in the community.
Design Concept: Resimercial Elegance
This branch was designed to have a resimercial feel with a modern edge – a space that feels both welcoming and professional.

The six private offices and three teller stations are organized around the central ‘Living room’ waiting space where all visitors are welcome to relax and enjoy whether waiting for a meeting or making a quick transaction.

Bridging Classic and Contemporary Aesthetics
The design speaks to the language and character of other CNB branches: drawing inspiration from traditional detailing elements of contoured wall moldings, chair rails, and wall bases creating a sense of refinement that bridges classic and contemporary aesthetics.
The final color palette and materials used throughout the space were developed in close collaboration with CNB’s facilities project manager, architectural designer, and branding team, resulting in a final palette of bold red accents with warm neutral tones.

A Focal Point for Comfort
In the living room, a quartz feature wall with a built-in fireplace acts as a welcoming focal point setting the tone upon entry.
A coffee bar and checks station within the seating area offers clients an opportunity to pause and settle into the space.
At 1,200sf this waiting area is a majority of the suite’s footprint and evokes the feel of an upscale hotel lobby – where comfort, elegance, and attentive service come together to ensure every CNB client feels welcomed and well cared for.
