Modern Academic Spaces with Mid-Century Roots

Reilly Hall is one of the main classroom buildings on Le Moyne’s campus: it houses several departments ranging from Broadcast and Communication to Languages and Religious studies and numerous office suites for faculty and student success. This multi-phase renovation project was focused on delivering three major goals: to modernize the building’s interior appearance and functionality, implement accessible and long-lasting practices to augment the original structure, and finally, design and construct the project without disrupting the students and faculty’s use of the building.

Working alongside all departments within the building and broader College, the design team helped conceptualize and define their needs for a modern, functional, and accessible classroom.

Together, we arrived at the design intent of an education space that is bright and welcoming, that provides good daylight and visibility into the building’s corridors, rooms requiring flexible furnishings, technology to deliver virtual lectures, and support spaces for faculty to interface with students outside of a lecture’s four walls.

Our team worked diligently with the client team to design the project during the school year, work with the construction manager through extensive pre-construction coordination, to ultimately construct the entire project’s scope during the 12 weeks of summer vacation, delivering the project on time for the students and faculty and meeting the goals of the College.

Let’s create.

We believe architecture should be accessible, sustainable, and meaningful, with an emphasis on design that makes a positive and lasting impact.
